Want to be trained as an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard? Take one of our classes offered throughout the year and get certified for a great job! Participants will gain the following certifications: Lifeguard, CPR/AED (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator), and First Aid.
Requirements to Enter the Course
The students must meet all of the following criteria to enter this course:
Participants must be 15 years of age before the last class session.
Participants must swim 300 yards continuously using these strokes in the following order: 100 yards of front crawl, 100 yards of breaststroke, 100 yards of either front crawl or breaststroke or a combination of both. All 300 yards must use rhythmic breathing with the individuals face in the water and a stabilizing, propellant kick.
Participant must swim 20 yards, surface dive to a minimum depth of seven feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to surface and swim back to the starting point with object within one minute and forty seconds. When returning to the starting point, they must hold the 10 pound object with both hands and keep their face above the water level.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee to schedule and complete a Swim Test with the instructor. If the individual passes, the fee will be applied towards the cost of the class.
The cost for the class is $125 (including the $15 swim test fee).
Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory and non-negotiable.
