Harrisonville Parks

Harrisonville currently has over 400 acres of park land in 11 parks. The city is developing a comprehensive master plan for the parks and recreation system.

Lord’s Park (14.5 acres)

Abundant with trees including several large oak shade trees. Located at West Wall and Oakland Streets Lord’s Park has a large shelter that includes picnic tables, restrooms, and limited electricity.

A second shelter, donated by John Foster and the Rotary Club is also available without electricity. This park has playground equipment.

Harrisonville Trap & Skeet Range (50 acres)

Located approximately one mile north of the city on Jefferson Parkway.

This facility features a trap and skeet range, offices, and a class room for hunter safety training. The range was built in a cooperative effort by the City of Harrisonville and the Missouri Department of Conservation, and is maintained to the standards of the MDC.

Marler Wirt Allen Park (1/2 acre)

Located on the corner of South Independence and Mechanic Streets.

This park was constructed in memory of police officers Donald Marler, Frances (Frank) Wirt and a private citizen, Orvill Allen, who lost their lives in an incident on the square April 21, 1972.

The park contains a memorial marker, a fountain which has become a trademark of Harrisonville, the Elks' memorial flag pole, park benches, flower beds and shrubbery. Throughout the year events such as the Elks' Flag Day are held at this park.

Veterans' Park (1/4 Acre)

Located at the intersections of Commercial and Locust Streets.

This 1/4 acre park was constructed in memory of soldiers who fought in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and returned, as well as to those who gave their lives in those wars.

The park contains flower beds, a flag pole and two large memorial markers honoring the soldiers. Each year on Veterans’ Day the Boy Scout troops hold a ceremony at this memorial site.

South Street Park (1/2 acre)

Located at the corner of South and Independence Streets.

This pocket park provides beauty and landscaping to the busy intersection with flower beds, shade trees and park benches.

Blueberry Park (5 acres)

Located between Blueberry Street and Ann Avenue.

This park is currently undeveloped. It provides green space and a place for pick-up ball games within the neighborhood.

Hite Park (15 1cres)

Located at Glenda and Harry Drive.

This park is currently undeveloped. The site is bordered by large stands of oak and hickory trees and is slated for future development.

Located: North Street.

This area is rustic prairie land and is currently inaccessible.
