Recycling & Trash
The City of Harrisonville has a refuse contract with Town and Country Disposal, providing residents with residential trash collection along with the packet of other utility services.

Collection Days
Collection days are Monday through Thursday, regardless of holidays. You will be notified of your collection day when setting up your new utility service. In addition, yard waste and other recyclables can also be picked up at curbside. Examples of acceptable recyclables include paper, newspapers, aluminum and tin cans, and certain plastics. You may pick up a recycling bin at City Hall during regular business hours.
Food waste, plastic lids, bands, bags, toys, dishes, Styrofoam, glass, or aerosol cans cannot be accepted as recyclables but can be discarded with regular trash. Paint, oil, and solvent cans cannot be accepted with your curbside collection.

Yard waste must be placed in biodegradeable brown paper bags or unbagged in uncovered trash containers.

For large items, please check with Town and Country at 816-380-5595, to make arrangements. An additional charge may apply.

The monthly charge for trash collection is included with residents’ utility bills.
