Over the next couple of years, two city-wide projects will require small amounts of digging in the rights-of-way and easements of most properties in Harrisonville.
Both Comcast and Socket will each be installing fiber-optic internet cable throughout all neighborhoods.
The work will be done by digging a small trench near the roadway or in other easements. Work will be done either by the companies themselves or by their contractors; who will have their logos on the sides of their trucks.
Once the trench has been dug and the line is in the ground, the crews will come back a few weeks later to put down grass seed and straw where your property was dug up. Comcast and Socket will contact homeowners once their service is available for use, if you would like to use them.
If you have an issue needing to be resolved by the contractor that worked on your property, please use the following contacts — Call 573-823-2917 for Socket, and call 844-322-2524 for Comcast. If no one answers your initial call, please leave a detailed message.
The next project is the ongoing Lead Service Line project. This project began in 2024, following a mandate from the federal government and the EPA.
Crews are moving from property to property identifying the water line material on each side of the water meter. Work has begun in the neighborhoods near the center of town and will work outwards until the whole town’s water line materials have been identified.
Crews will come back at a later date to identify the material used in the connection to the water main itself.
If you have questions about the Lead Service Line project, please call 816-380-8964.
